Past Event
The Mzansi Community Media & Creatives Awards (MCMCA) is an annual event celebrating excellence in South Africa’s community media and creative industries. The 2024 edition was held on April 23 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, where Phumelela Newspaper won “Best Front Page,” inspiring a redesign. The 2025 ceremony followed on April 18, also in Durban, continuing the tradition of recognizing outstanding contributors. Key sponsors in 2025 included eThekwini Municipality, Telkom, Umthala TV, and others. The awards highlight the impact of journalists, creatives, and media platforms in shaping communities. MCMCA provides visibility and support to local talent across South Africa. It remains a vital platform for uplifting and promoting community-driven storytelling and innovation.
